Shares of Japan edge higher after the market close in the course of Wednesday’s session, fueled by increasing shares in the sectors of Insurance, Steel and Automobile & Parts.
Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei 225 added 1.57% at the close in Tokyo.
Among the best performers of the Nikkei 225 session were Sony Corp., which rallied by about 6.46% or 186.5 points to changed hands at 3072.0 in late trade. Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. climbed 5.11% or 180.0 points to settle at 3700.0, while the MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings increased 4.96% or 146.5 to 3101.0 at the close.
Nisshinbo Holdings Inc. is one of the worst performers of the session, which lost about 3.02% or 36.0 points to changed hands at 1155.0 in late trade. Tokuyama Corp. dropped 2.85% or 8.0 points to settle at 273.0 and Astellas Pharma Inc. declined by about 2.76% or 40.5 points to 1429.0 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered stumbling ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with a range between 1355 to 496 and 146 remained unchanged.
The Nikkei Volatility, which gauges the Nikkei 225 implied volatility options, added 0.85% and hit 26.17.
Crude oil delivery for June increase by about 1.44% or 0.70 to $49.32 per barrel. In commodities trading Brent oil delivery for July climbed 1.34% or 0.65 to end at $49.26 per barrel, while the Gold contract for June lost 0.42% or 5.15 to changed hands at $1224.05 a troy ounce.
Conversely, USD/JPY edge higher by 0.04% to 110.04, while EUR/JPY jumped 0.13% to 122.69.
The US Dollar Index has seen declines of 0.05% at 95.54.
Taiwan Stocks Edge Higher
Shares of Taiwan surge after the market close amid Wednesday’s session, boosted by advancing shares in the sectors of the Semiconductor, Other Electronic, and Optoelectronic.
Meanwhile, the Taiwan Weighted rallied 1.15% at the close in Taiwan.
Among the best performers on Taiwan Weighted session were Via Tech, which added 10.00% or 1.20 points to changed hands at 13.20 in late trade. Sunko Ink rose 10.00% or 1.35 points to settle at 14.85 and Htc Corp increased 9.96% or 6.70 points to 74.00 at the close.
Candmark is one of the worst performers of the session, which lost about 10.00% or 0.17 points to changed hands at 1.53% in late trade. Tainan Cayman dropped 7.14% or 0.15 points to settle at 1.95 and China Tv plunged 5.29% or 0.28 points to 5.01 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered dropping ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange with a range between 583 to 179 and 88 remained unchanged.
