Sri Lank stocks edge higher during the course of Thursday’s session, fueled by advancing shares in sectors of Palm Oil, Trading and Plantations.
The CSE All-Share rallied 0.48% after the market close.
Among the best performers of CSE All-Share session were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd, which gained 13.77% or 1.90 points to changed hands at 15.70 in late trade. Maskeliya Plantations PLC has seen a 12.68% increase or 0.90 points to settle at 8.00 and Radiant Gems International PLC rose 11.48% or 3.50 points to end at 34.00 at the close.
Amana Takaful PLC is one of the worst performers amid session, which declined by about 10.00% or 0.100 points to changed hands at 0.900 in late trade. Hotel Sigiriya PLC dropped 7.27% or 8.00 points to settle at 102.00 and Palm Garden Hotel PLC has seen 7.14% loss or 2.40 points to 31.20 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered dropping ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange with a range between 127 to 43 and 45 remained unchanged.
Crude oil delivery for August rose 1.18% or 0.56 to end at $47.99 per barrel. In commodities trading, Brent oil delivery for September rallied 1.13% or 0.55 points to settle at $49.35 per barrel, while Gold contract for August lost 0.04% or 0.50 to changed hands at $1366.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR declined by about 0.76% to 187.830, while USD/LKR dropped 0.19% to 145.355.
The US Dollar Index lost about 0.03% at 96.10.
Indian Stocks Rally
India stocks edge higher after the market closed on Thursday’s session, boosted by advancing shares in the sectors of Healthcare, Fast Moving Consumer Goods and Power.
The Nifty 50 climbed by about 0.025 in late trade, while the BSE Sensex 30 index rose 0.13%.
Among Nifty 50’s best performers were Lupin Ltd, which rallied 5.94% or 92.85 points to changed hands at 1655.75 at the close. Hindalco Industries Ltd. increased 3.28% or 4.05 points to settle at 127.70 and Hindustan Unilerver Ltd. added 3.16% or 28.10 points to 918.30 after the market closed.
TATA STEEL LIMITED is one of the worst performers amid session, which has seen 4.78% losses or 15.95 points to changed hands at 317.70 in late trade. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. fell 3.05% or 14.10 points to settle at 447.85 and HCL Technologies Ltd dropped by about 2.88% or 21.30 points to 717.10.
Among BSE Sensex 30 top performers were Vedanta Ltd, which rallied by about 4.52% to 143.25, Hindalco Industries Ltd. which increased 3.36% to end at 127.75 and Hindustan Unilever Ltd. which added 3.03% at 917.35 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered dropping ones on the India National Stock Exchange with a range between 763 to 695 and 59 remained unchanged.
